Southern California Surf Report: Malibu to Santa Barbara Waves, Moderate Rip Currents, and Perfect Surfing Conditions
Published 9 months, 1 week ago
Description
Surf's up, wave riders! Get ready for a swell day along the Southern California coastline. We're looking at a moderate rip current risk from Malibu to Santa Barbara, so keep those ocean skills sharp.
Malibu and Los Angeles County beaches are serving up a solid 2 to 4 foot south swell today and tomorrow. Water temps are sitting pretty between 60 and 69 degrees - perfect for catching some rays and waves. The tide dance is in full swing with morning and afternoon highs hitting around 4.5 to 5.2 feet.
Cruising up to Ventura County, you'll find similar conditions with the same 2 to 4 foot surf and moderate rip current warning. Water's a bit chillier here at 55 to 65 degrees, so grab that wetsuit.
For our Santa Barbara friends, things are a bit mellower. Expect smaller 1 to 2 foot waves with a low rip current risk. Water temps are holding steady around 64 to 66 degrees.
The central coast is bringing the heat with 3 to 5 foot waves featuring a mixed west and south swell. San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Central Coast beaches are looking prime for more experienced surfers. Water's on the cooler side at 52 to 54 degrees, so full wetsuit recommended.
Thunderstorms? Not on the radar. Just clean, consistent waves ready for your board time. Stay safe, watch those currents, and enjoy the ocean playground!
