Designing Life on Your Own Terms and Your Own Timeline, Not Society's

Episode 342

#342: Life is meant to be designed the way YOU want it, not what others want for you. Not for your parents, family, society's, etc. The problem? It's sometimes easier said than done.

There always seems to be some sort of "society standard" as to when we're supposed to be married, have children, move in with a partner, etc. And what often happens, is we see our friends starting to move in that direction and we feel that inevitable FOMO and we subconsciously make decisions based on what we're seeing externally, not what is aligned internally.

On this solo episode, Emily dives into the following topics:

  • Importance of having your own independence before moving in with a partner
  • Her prior experience at the age of 20 and living with a previous partner and lessons she's taken from it
  • How valuable it is to have close friends or mutual friends as positive references or examples of what you want in life down the road
