The Utah Mammoth have bolstered their forward group this offseason, and SLC Puck host Austin Facer believes no one stands to benefit more than captain Clayton Keller. Fresh off a career-best season in points, Keller could take another leap forward. Facer predicts he’ll not only top last year’s total but potentially flirt with the elusive 100-point mark, cementing his status as a true NHL superstar.
Adding to the momentum is the Olympic break in February. After leading Team USA to gold at the IIHF World Championship this spring — and still carrying a chip on his shoulder from being left off the 4 Nations Faceoff roster — Keller appears more motivated than ever. Facer expects a fast start from the Mammoth’s top scorer, especially with a spot at the Winter Games in Italy on the line. That kind of firepower could be exactly what Utah needs to punch its ticket to the playoffs.
