Description
Cathy and Todd discuss speech patterns, specifically discussing the new documentary Do I Sound Gay? by filmmaker David Thorpe. They also discuss the phenomenon of “upspeak” and how those who use it may not be taken seriously, and why the Kardashian voice or “vocal fry” is not only challenging on the ears, but also the vocal cords. They highlight an NPR interview with Thorpe and Speech Pathologist Susan Sankin.
