Breaking News Special: Bryan Kohberger to Plead Guilty! Everything You Need to Know

Episode 195

Bryan Kohberger, the suspect in the University of Idaho murders that shocked the nation, has agreed to plead guilty in the killings of four college students in Moscow, Idaho. The plea deal will spare him the death penalty. A change of plea hearing is scheduled for today, July 2, at 11 a.m. MT. You can watch it with the Courtroom Confidential community here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PAKglf-KcU

Kohberger, 30, was arrested in 2022 and charged in the fatal stabbings of Kaylee Goncalves and Madison Mogen, both 21; Xana Kernodle, 20; and Ethan Chapin, 20. The three women lived in the Moscow home with two other roommates who were unharmed. Chapin was Kernodle’s boyfriend and stayed over for the night.

As part of the plea deal, Kohberger will plead guilty to four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary. He will receive a life sentence without the possibility of parole and waive his right to appeal.
