Love should be the overruling virtue of the fruit of God’s Spirit in our hearts and lives because these six statements are true.
1. Eloquence without love is nothing. (v. 1)
2. Prophecy without love is nothing. (v. 2a)
3. Knowledge without love is nothing. (v. 2b)
4. Faith without love is nothing. (v. 2b)
5. Benevolence without love is nothing. (v. 3a)
6. Martyrdom without love is nothing. (v. 3b)
Application:
* Without love my gifts are a noisy nuisance. (1 Cor. 13:1)
* Without love I am a zero. (1 Cor. 13:2)
* Without love I can’t make it. (1 Cor. 13:3)
