In this lesson on Sūrah Hūd, verses 69–83, Shaykh Dr. Aḥsan Ḥanīf discusses the visit of the angels to Prophet Ibrāhīm (AS) and the events that followed. The angels bring glad tidings of offspring and inform Ibrāhīm of the impending punishment for the people of Lūṭ (AS). Despite Ibrāhīm’s compassionate plea on behalf of Lūṭ’s nation, the divine decree is final. The lesson then moves to Lūṭ’s encounter with the angels, the aggressive behaviour of his people, and the eventual destruction of their town through a severe punishment. This passage highlights the mercy shown to the prophets and believers, and the certainty of divine justice.
