The time is now 06:00 AM in New York, I'm Noa Levi and this is the latest Israel Today: Ongoing War Report.

At six o’clock in the morning, we begin with a complex picture of ongoing tensions and recent developments across the Middle East and beyond.

In Iran, reports indicate that Javad Mehrabi, a senior Iranian security figure and bodyguard to President Ebrahim Raisi, narrowly escaped a helicopter crash that claimed the life of Iran’s top security official. Mehrabi subsequently served as the bodyguard for General Hossein Salami, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, who was targeted and eliminated during the initial phase of Israel’s military operation known as "With All Lions." These incidents highlight the persistent high-stakes security environment surrounding Iran’s leadership, amid increasing covert and overt confrontations.

In the Gaza Strip, the Israeli Defense Forces have issued evacuation orders for residents in specified northern coastal areas, including Nusayrat, Zera’a, and Beit Lahia, as part of ongoing efforts to neutralize terrorist capabilities. Israeli officials emphasize that these operations are aimed at dismantling militant infrastructure, with the military urging civilians to relocate southward to safer zones.

Meanwhile, in southern Lebanon and the broader region, Hezbollah has suffered significant setbacks, with Israeli military operations reportedly inflicting heavy damage on their command and supply networks, and Lebanese efforts intensify to expel remaining militant elements. In Yemen, the Houthi movement continues launching missile and drone attacks into Saudi Arabia and other regional targets, maintaining pressure amidst diplomatic efforts for de-escalation.

Internationally, US President Donald Trump has announced the suspension of trade negotiations with Canada, citing new tariffs on digital commerce within the United States. This move complicates efforts to reach a new trade agreement amid ongoing economic disputes, adding strain to North American relations.

In Israel, security forces have detained six individuals near the West Bank village of Malka in Binyamin. The suspects, including two minors, are accused of attempting to attack IDF reserve soldiers with stones and aggression. Police and military authorities report that the individuals are cooperating and will be brought before a court for further proceedings.

In a related domestic incident, a fire broke out in a residential building on Nove Street in Kfar Saba, prompting the evacuation of seven residents, all in mild condition. Firefighters responded swiftly, containing the blaze and rescuing those trapped inside. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

On the diplomatic front, Iran’s Foreign Ministry has declared today’s massive funeral procession in Tehran as a response to recent acts of terror. Iranian officials also allege that the International Atomic Energy Agency is leaking sensitive information, casting doubt on the agency’s credibility. Additionally, footage from the funeral shows prominent military commander Ismail Kaani, a senior figure in the Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force, appearing to limp, fueling speculation about his health or recent injuries.

In Israel, the military reports that overnight, Israeli forces observed and responded to a group of Israeli civilians attempting to approach a closed military zone near Malka. The soldiers dispersed the crowd using crowd-control measures, and six individuals were detained and handed over to police. Authorities stress their commitment to maintaining security and order, condemning any acts of violence or illegal activity against security personnel.
