Story Transcript:

Lt: Aukščiausio sniego žmogaus statymas Arktyje buvo ambicingas planas.
En: The tallest snowman building project in the Arctic was an ambitious plan.

Lt: Mindaugas, visada mėgęs nuotykius, stovėjo ant tundros, apsidairydamas aplink.
En: Mindaugas, always fond of adventures, stood on the tundra, looking around.

Lt: Dangus niekada nesinko į tamsą.
En: The sky never fell into darkness.

Lt: Šviesa krito neribotai, bet vasara reiškė, kad sniego nebuvo tiek daug, kiek norėjo.
En: The light fell without limits, but summer meant that there wasn't as much snow as he would have liked.

Lt: „Na, Egle,“ sakė Mindaugas su plačia šypsena, „pastatykime tokį sniego žmogų, kad visos baltosios lokės stebėtųsi!
En: "Well, Eglė," said Mindaugas with a wide smile, "let's build a snowman that all the polar bears will marvel at!"

Lt: “ Eglė paspaudė ranką ant kaktos.
En: Eglė pressed her hand against her forehead.

Lt: „Mindaugai, sniego beveik nebėra.
En: "Mindaugas, there's scarcely any snow left.

Lt: Reikės būti kūrybingiems.
En: We'll need to be creative."

Lt: “Dovydas, juos lydintis vietinis gidas, pakvatojo.
En: Dovydas, the local guide accompanying them, laughed.

Lt: „Jūs nenugalėsite Arktyje!
En: "You won't beat the Arctic!

Lt: Bet aš padėsiu jums įveikti iššūkį,“ tarė jis, laikydamas akį ant netoliese gulinčio ledyno gabalo.
En: But I'll help you tackle the challenge," he said, keeping an eye on a nearby chunk of glacier.

Lt: Tiesiog stentais ir pašokdavimais, Mindaugas ir jo draugai nusprendė naudoti tai, kas buvo po ranka: šaldyta žuvis iš Dovydo atsargų ir ledo luitai nuo ledyno.
En: With simple trial and error, Mindaugas and his friends decided to use whatever was at hand: frozen fish from Dovydas' supplies and blocks of ice from the glacier.

En: And so they began.

Lt: Mindaugas paėmė ledinį luitą ir padėjo jį, kur sniego žmogaus bazė turėjo būti.
En: Mindaugas took an icy block and placed it where the snowman's base was meant to be.

En: "I've got strong arms," he joked, dragging a big bag of fish.

Lt: Eglė, matydama, kaip sniego žmogus formuojasi, suabejojo.
En: Seeing how the snowman was taking shape, Eglė hesitated.

Lt: „Gal turime pasidalyti sluoksniais?
En: "Maybe we should layer it?"

Lt: “„Taip, visada gerai turėti planą B,“ atsakė Dovydas, kiniškai metus žingsnį atgal, kai sniego žmogus nedidelio aukščio pasiekė.
En: "Yes, it's always good to have a plan B," replied Dovydas, stepping back with a Chinese flair when the snowman reached a modest height.

Lt: Tačiau staiga, po visos pastangos, oras tapo šiltesnis.
En: However, suddenly, after all the effort, the weather grew warmer.

Lt: Sniego žmogaus bazė pradėjo persislinkti ir nykti.
En: The snowman's base began to shift and melt.

Lt: Mindaugas akimirkai sunerimo, bet tik akimirkai.
En: Mindaugas was momentarily worried, but only for a moment.

Lt: „Ei, mes nepasiduosime!
En: "Hey, we won't give up!"

Lt: “ šūkavo jis.
En: he shouted.

Lt: Eglė mąstydama paėmė kastuvą ir tuo metu atsirado idėja.
En: As Eglė was thinking, she grabbed a shovel and an idea surfaced.

Lt: „Kitaip!
En: "Differently!

Lt: Turime tvirtai jį pakišti į amž
