Worldwide, 55 million people are living with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. Caring for someone with this heartbreaking disease can feel like uncharted territory.

We sat down with Ben Yeager, Program Manager for the Alzheimer's Association, to discuss how dementia affects the brain, prevention, caregiving tips, and other resources.

The Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900) is a free service offering support for people living with dementia, caregivers, families and the public. Connect with a live person who can provide information, local resources, crisis assistance and emotional support.

Remember to call 911 in case of a medical emergency.
