Back to Episodes42: Introduction To The Great Hair Debate (Guest: Corporate With Cornrows)
Description
Our entire lives have centered around a constant for as long as we can remember, hair! If you want to accept it or not, your hair has been a conversation piece. As a black woman, our hair has been the message board to the world, as to where we’ve been and where we’re going. The interesting thing about this Great Hair Debate is, it never ends. Today, we want to dive into “The Great Hair Debate” of how hair discrimination in the workplace causes black women to constantly shift and blur the lines of self-identification.
At 26, Olivia Savannah Logan is a coffee enthusiast and an unapologetically black woman working in the legal industry as a real estate paralegal. After experiencing discrimination central to natural hair and race, she created the Instagram account “Corporate With Cornrows” to celebrate diversity and black beauty within professional spaces. Outside of work, she recharges through spending time with her family, traveling, and snuggling in her plushy bathrobe.
