EP263: Old Fashioned on Purpose with Jill Winger
Description
As young newlyweds, Jill Winger and her husband asked themselves one question that forever changed their lives: “Why do we have to do it like everyone else?” They set out on a quest for the answer, one path leading them to impulse-buy a neglected farmstead 40 miles away from the nearest grocery store. Little did they know that an old homestead would create such a vast shift in the trajectory of their lives. They were now pursuing a path of homesteading. Jill is the founder of The Prairie Homestead, a cornerstone of the modern homesteading movement since 2010. She is passionate about teaching old-fashioned skills, and encouraging a more thoughtful, time-honored approach to modern life. Today Jill discusses how to begin homesteading with a small amount of land, how culture romanticizes chores and chickens, how she relaxes with so much daily responsibility and more…
