Description
In this vibrant and soul-stirring episode, I’m joined by Ma‘a, Sarah, and Lydia from DC Hula Girls—three powerful women keeping Pacific Island culture alive through the spirit of Aloha. 🌺
We explore:
- The deep history of Hawai‘i and the impact of its invasion
- What it means to be of mixed ethnic identity in today's world
- The sacred origins and meaning behind the word Aloha, which isn’t just a greeting—it’s a way of life:
• Akahai – kindness
• Lōkahi – unity
• ʻŌluʻolu – agreeableness
• Haʻahaʻa – humility
• Ahonui – patience - The powerful symbolism behind hula and Pacific Island dance
- How cultural expression keeps them rooted in Aloha ʻĀina—love of the land
Whether you’re a lover of culture, curious about the history of Hawai‘i, or longing to reconnect with your own roots, this conversation will inspire and open your heart. 💛
🎧 Tune in and let the mana (spiritual power) of this conversation move you.
