Arise and Shine‼️Jacob, Maintain Excellence Even when Defrauded in Wages

By Pastor and Mrs Chifamba

EXCELLENCE AT WORK IS ABOUT WHO YOU ARE NOT ABOUT WAGES‼️

Proverbs 13:4

The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

The Lord’s purposes are not the purposes of men. He did not design that men should live in idleness. In the beginning He created man a gentleman; but though rich in all that the Owner of the universe could supply, Adam was not to be idle. No sooner was he created than his work was given him. He was to find employment and happiness in tending the things that God had created, and in response to his labor his wants were to be abundantly supplied from the fruits of the Garden of Eden. – {Counsels to Parents, Teachers, and Students p. 273.2}

Genesis 2:15

And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

HOWEVER, THE QUESTION IS DO I CONTINUE TO WORK DILIGENTLY WHEN I AM NOT WELL PAID?  SO LONG AS YOU KEEP THAT JOD IT IS YOUR CHRISTIAN DUTY TO BE DILIGENT‼️ JACOB WAS DILIGENT TO THE POINT OF HIS RESIGNATION. HOWEVER EMPLOYERS SHOULD ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT GOD WILL BRING THEM TO ACCOUNT FOR UNJUST WAGES.

Colossians 4:1

Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.

Deuteronomy 24:14-15

Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates: 15At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.

Genesis 31:4-7

And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock, 5And said unto them, I see your father's countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me. 6And ye know that with all my power I have served your father. 7And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.

Genesis 31:38-42

This twenty years have I been with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have not cast their young, and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten. 39That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by night. 40Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes. 41Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times. 42Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.

For twenty years Jacob remained in Mesopotamia, laboring in the service of Laban, who, disregarding the ties of kinship, was bent upon securing to himself all the benefits of their connection. Fourteen years of toil he demanded for his two daughters; and during the remaining period, Jacob’s wages were ten times changed. Yet Jacob’s service was diligent and faithful. – {Patriarchs and Prophets p. 190.1}

2 Chronicles 25:9

And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The LORD is able to give thee much more than this.

Psalm 37:3-6

Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4Delight thyself also in the LORD; and h
