The time is now 06:00 PM in New York, I'm Noa Levi and this is the latest Israel Today: Ongoing War Report.
At 6:00 PM, Israel remains deeply embroiled in a multi-front conflict with Iran and its proxies across the Middle East. Recent reports indicate significant military activity and escalating tensions in several key areas. Israeli officials have publicly stated that the recent strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities and military infrastructure are part of a decisive operation aimed at dismantling Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel will target every site associated with the ayatollah regime, emphasizing that the recent attack significantly damaged Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities at Natanz and Isfahan, as well as eliminating top nuclear scientists. He warned that Israel’s military efforts aim to prevent Iran from manufacturing tens of thousands of missiles and acquiring nuclear weapons, which Netanyahu described as existential threats.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stark warning that if Iran continues its missile attacks on Israeli population centers, Tehran “will burn.” Israeli fighter jets have conducted deep strikes into Iranian territory, targeting missile launchers and military sites, disrupting planned attacks, and destroying dozens of drones and missile systems. Israeli officials also reported the elimination of Iran’s top military commanders, including Revolutionary Guards chief Major General Hossein Salami, and the head of Iran’s missile and drone operations, Major General Gholam Ali Rashid. These strikes also reportedly killed several high-ranking nuclear scientists, further setting back Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
Across the region, the conflict has spilled over into neighboring countries. In northern Israel, at least two missiles have reportedly hit in the Galilee, causing damage and injuries. In the Arab town of Tamra, a woman was killed, and thirteen others were injured in a missile barrage. The Israeli Home Front Command has lifted restrictions in some areas, but residents are still urged to remain vigilant.
Iran has responded with threats of harsher retaliation. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that continued Israeli strikes will provoke a “more severe and powerful response” from Tehran. Iran’s leadership accuses Israel of aggression and claims that Israel’s recent strikes have targeted key military and nuclear sites, including an underground missile base in Tabriz. Iranian state media reports that at least thirty Iranian military personnel, a civilian worker, and two civilians have been killed in the recent Israeli airstrikes in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province. Additionally, Iran claims to have targeted and destroyed a number of military sites in Iran, including the Tabriz airbase and other strategic locations.
Internationally, there are concerns over the potential escalation of the conflict. Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with US President Donald Trump, condemning Israel’s military actions against Iran and expressing concern about possible regional escalation. Trump expressed interest in a swift resolution, while both leaders acknowledged the possibility of returning to negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program.
In Yemen, Israel reportedly conducted targeted strikes aimed at Houthi military leadership. Reports indicate that Israel targeted the Houthi chief-of-staff, Mohammed Abd al-Karim al-Ghamari, possibly during a high-level meeting in Sanaa. Iranian-backed Houthis have also been active, firing approximately forty ballistic missiles at Israel in recent barrage, with no reported injuries. Additionally, Israel has reportedly tar
