The time is now 04:00 AM in New York, I'm Noa Levi and this is the latest Israel Today: Ongoing War Report.

At 4 a.m., the situation in Israel remains highly tense and complex, with a multi-front conflict unfolding across the Middle East. Israeli defense forces continue to respond to a barrage of attacks from Iran and its proxies, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing hostilities.

Overnight, Israel reported intercepting numerous Iranian-made drone and missile attacks. In the north, a swarm of attack drones targeted Israeli northern borders, prompting the IDF to mobilize reserve troops to reinforce defenses along the Lebanon and Syria borders. The military also confirmed striking Iranian military targets in Tehran, including bases associated with Iran’s drone operations and military infrastructure, in response to earlier Iranian missile barrages.

Iranian military officials have issued stark warnings, promising expanded combat operations that will target Israeli and American military installations across the region. Senior Iranian commanders have declared that the current hostilities are only the beginning, with some officials predicting a broader campaign that will include extensive missile attacks and possibly more drone strikes. Iranian media reports indicate that future missile launches could involve as many as 2,000 projectiles, significantly larger than previous assaults.

In Jerusalem, the Israeli government remains on high alert. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant held an emergency security assessment with military leaders. The IDF reported striking multiple targets in Gaza, including underground tunnels and weapon storage facilities, following rocket fire from the Palestinian enclave. Gaza militants, meanwhile, celebrated the Iranian missile attacks, with reports of gatherings in the territory expressing support for the escalation.

In the central region, a residential building in Gush Dan was hit during a recent missile barrage, resulting in two fatalities and around twenty injuries. Emergency services responded swiftly, rescuing a baby girl from the rubble of the destroyed building. The child was among several civilians injured in the crossfire, highlighting the mounting humanitarian toll.

Further, in the early morning hours, Iran launched a significant missile barrage toward Israel, with at least five waves of ballistic missiles targeting multiple population centers. Most of these were intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system, but some struck residential areas, causing casualties and damage estimated at over 100 million shekels. Three Israelis were confirmed dead, and approximately ninety others wounded, many lightly. The strikes also caused widespread destruction, including shattered homes and damaged infrastructure.

Israel’s military has responded with targeted airstrikes across Iran, notably hitting military sites in Tehran and other strategic locations. These actions follow reports of Israeli aircraft attacking missile and aircraft hangars at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, with satellite imagery showing large fires and smoke plumes over the capital. In addition, Israeli aircraft conducted multiple strikes on military bases in northern Iran, including in Tabriz, targeting missile storage facilities and airbases linked to Iran’s military and nuclear programs.

Iran’s foreign ministry accused Israel of influencing diplomatic negotiations through its military actions, claiming that the Israeli attacks could not have been carried out without US approval. Tehran also reported that Iranian missile barrages were less severe than they could have been, thanks to ongoing Israeli airstrikes that destroyed key military assets in Iran.
