U.S. President Donald Trump has deployed 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles to quell protests against the administrations strict measures on illegal immigration, and actions conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in southern California; Cooler weather and light rain aid firefighting efforts in certain areas across Canada's Prairie provinces. However, many regions in the country continue to face significant challenges due to a blanket of choking smoke; Plus, the Stanley Cup Final is off to an electric start, after Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers each won an overtime thriller.
