Exoneree, Keith Carnes spent over 18 years behind bars for a murder he didn’t commit in Kansas City, Missouri in 2003. Most of the witnesses of the trial were inconsistent and there was no physical evidence. He was released and exonerated on April 11, 2022 thanks to the work of the KC Freedom Project & private investigator, Latahra Smith Carnes, who is now Keith’s wife.
