Back to EpisodesCOJ #103 - The Wildest Story of Attorney Corruption Ever Told .. With Special Guest and Former OJ Simpson Prosecutor Marcia Clark
Description
This week on “Cup of Justice” join investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell as they sit down with former OJ Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark, who is host of the “Informants: Lawyer X” podcast now on Wondery.
“Informants: Lawyer X” tells the (unbelievably wild and very true) story of an Australian defense attorney — Nicola Gobbo — who played both sides of the criminal justice system. Gobbo represented some of Melbourne’s biggest (alleged) criminals while also serving as a top informant for law enforcement. In other words, Gobbo was defending her clients while also telling on them. Mandy and Liz talk to Marcia Clark about what makes the Gobbo case so egregious and so unlike any other ethical lapses involving attorneys that we have ever seen. They also discuss the Menendez Brothers case, as well as the OJ Simpson case and how that case might have played if it happened in the age of podcasts and TikTok.
Also on the show, Mandy and Liz talk about what they’re seeing in the Christa Bauer Gilley case out of Houston, as well as thrice-accused rapist Bowen Turner, who is expected to be released from prison on Halloween.
Premium Members also get a discussion on the Menendez brothers' re-sentencing and the broader implications for abuse victims.
