Brandon Densmore’s life spiraled from early childhood abuse to chronic illness and a long-term opioid addiction that worsened after he was introduced to heroin. At 21, he nearly died after being kicked in the head during a fight, experiencing a state of absolute nothingness. Despite earning a philosophy degree from Vassar College, he remained in the grip of addiction until a 2014 overdose plunged him into a profound near-death experience.
