Ineligible WACO Votes on Highland Bond Referendum Heading to Iowa Supreme Court

Season 3 Episode 70 Published 1 year, 1 month ago
Description

On this VIDEO episode of Southeast Iowa Today John Bain revisits the $15 Million Highland School District Bond Referendum controversy with Concerned Ainsworth, Iowa, Citizen Teresa Greiner and Washington County Iowa Supervisor and Ainsworth, Iowa, Citizen Marcus Fedler. The issue has been brought before a Contest Court, District Court and now will be heading to the Iowa Supreme Court. The guests believe there is enough legal basis to argue that the names and addresses of WACO voters that ineligibly voted are not needed. Fedler claims the math does not add up. There were 70 ineligible votes cast and the Referendum won by 28. Apparently, none of the parties involved disagree with that. It’s now down to semantics.
