Many know the Lord’s Prayer, which cries out for God’s Kingdom to come on earth. But how does that actually happen? In Matthew 16:13–19, Jesus tells Peter, “I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven.” These keys symbolize authority—a delegated, judicial power from God to His people. Just as keys give access, the authority Jesus gives allows believers to bind what’s illegitimate and loose what’s legitimate in both the spiritual and natural realms.

This authority only works in right relationship with Jesus, the true Messiah and Son of God. Without that relationship, we’re powerless. But with Jesus, we can unlock peace, freedom, and victory in areas of our lives plagued by darkness, addiction, or fear. The Kingdom comes not just in theory, but in practice, when believers act with the authority already granted from Heaven. The question is: Will you use the keys?
