Ingomar Church Summer Concert Series

Episode 889 Published 1 year ago
Description
Ingomar Church is hosting it's 4th year of free summer recitals! Traditional Worship and Music Leader at the Church, Ben Bugaile, talks about the upcoming recital series. This year's series features The Arsenal Duo on July 13th, Du Pragma on July 20th, the Pittsburgh Cello Quartet on July 27th, Dr. Taras Filenko on August 3rd, and Ben's original art song project on August 17th. Ben highlights each group, and what their program will feature. Ben also talks about his work writing 24 original songs in every key for all voice types. 10 years in the making, Ben will share the final pieces on August 17th. The text of the songs are mostly from poetry by Carl Sandburg, Lewis Carroll, Edgar Allan Poe, Shakespeare, among others. Each voice type has pieces with various tempos and emotional depth, to showcase the wide range of each singer. Ben highlights his musical background and influence listening to classical music in Washington, PA. Originally a voice major, Ben switched to the organ and developed a deeper affinity for the keyboard. Finally, he discusses his work at Ingomar Church, which includes leading the choir, bell choir, and chamber ensemble.
