Description
This episode of Up+Adam is a full-on celebration of community, culture, and connection on the Central Coast.
We kick things off with Ashley White from Firestone Walker Brewing Company, who gives us the inside scoop on the sold-out Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest and the growing list of community events surrounding it. From Friday’s all-day Block Party to Sunday’s “Beers & Brekkie” brunch, it’s more than just a beer fest. It’s a full weekend experience designed to celebrate Paso and its people.
Then we yell a little “OPA!” with Dr. Paul Georghiou, longtime emcee and cultural torchbearer for the SLO Greek Festival. Happening this Saturday and Sunday at the Madonna Expo Center, it’s wall-to-wall Greek food, live music, dancing, wine, and all the ouzo you can handle. For just five bucks, you’re transported to Greece without leaving SLO.
Finally, our favorite feline whisperer Robin Coleman from Woods Humane Society is back with a streetwise sweetheart named Belfast, a black cat ready to trade alley life for a windowsill nap. We also get the scoop on this weekend’s Wine & Whiskers fundraiser and next week’s California Adopt-a-Pet Day, with free adoptions happening Saturday, June 7.
