Congresswoman Maxine Dexter on What Medicaid Cuts Could Mean for Oregon

Published 11 months, 3 weeks ago
Description

Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to advance President Trump's massive $3 trillion budget bill to the U.S. Senate. One of its most controversial parts is the plan to reduce federal spending on Medicaid by nearly $700 billion over a decade. Today we're talking with U.S. Representative Maxine Dexter, who represents Oregon's 3rd Congressional District and is a physician and member of the Democratic Doctors Caucus. She voted no on the bill and has been outspoken about the ways these cuts to Medicaid will affect daily life for hundreds of thousands of Oregonians.
