A native of the Pacific Northwest, John grew up surrounded by the rugged beauty of the region’s rivers and forests.
John’s military service took him far from home, but it was during his time in Iraq that his life would change forever. Wounded in action in 2006 while serving in the Army, John experienced the unimaginable loss of an eye. Despite this life-altering injury, John’s spirit remained unbroken.
