Episode 18 Published 5 years, 8 months ago
Description

In this episode I get to chat with my former supervisor and person that gave me an opportunity Dr. Melissa Kemberling, PhD, MPH. Here we talk about her journey from Allied Health as a Physical Therapist to her wanting to effect bigger change than one on one interaction. Melissa has been referred to as the public health unicorn of the Mat-Su Health Foundation. She pursued her Master of Public Health at Columbia University before doing her doctorate in Sociology at Tulane University. Melissa moved to Alaska and worked at University of Alaska Anchorage and did some consulting before moving to a full time job as the Lead Epidemiologist at the Alaska Native Tribal Consortium. She then worked at the Mat-Su Health Foundation in various roles over the years before transitioning to starting her own consulting company, actionabledataresearch.com.
