Description
In the recent episode of BC Food News, the podcast host Jennifer English talks about the Culinary Careers Program (C•CAP)'s impressive award of over $2.4 million in college scholarships to 150 culinary students from 55 schools across the US. C•CAP, a nonprofit organization focused on empowering under-resourced students and adults in food and hospitality, has also partnered with the James Beard Foundation, becoming the official administrator of all JBF-affiliated scholarship opportunities. In addition, they're launching three new $15,000 scholarships in partnership with the Laxer Family Foundation. The scholarships were granted based on excellent grades, strong recommendations, and the successful completion of a culinary competition. Since its inception 35 years ago, C•CAP has awarded a total of $76 million in college scholarships, impacting around 400,000 students nationwide.
