Description
Dr Stella Iacovides is a member of the Brain Function Research Group, and a Senior Lecturer in the School of Physiology, University of the Witwatersrand.
Her PhD research focused on a clinical pain population, specifically women with dysmenorrhoea. She studied how repetitive menstrual pain impacts on physiological health, including sleep, mood, and quality of life. Among other studies, Post-PhD, Dr. Stella has conducted research on the interaction between Nutrition and Sleep, Cognitive function and pain.
Stella presents her work at local and large international conferences, and her research has been published in prestigious, high impact-factor, internationally-accredited journals; including SLEEP, the Journal of Pain, and Human Reproduction Update, and the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
