Brad Leighninger is the head pitmaster for the championship winning Gettin’ Basted Competition BBQ Team. This team has finished no less than 7th place in the last 6 consecutive KCBS Team of the Year standings, winning it out right 2 of those years (there are literally thousands of registered KCBS teams). Just last year Brad’s barbecue team edged out Joe Pearce of “SLAP’S BBQ” by 2 points, 2670 to 2668, to win the Kansas City Barbecue Society 2020 Team of the Year. Leighninger is also a hot and fast cooker with multiple Grand and World Championships that prove it can be done.
