No: Solen skinte over Aker Brygge, og luften var fylt med lyden av latter og rop.
En: The sun shone over Aker Brygge, and the air was filled with the sound of laughter and shouts.

En: It was 17. mai, Norway's national day, and people in bunader with flags in their hands filled the streets.

No: Sindre og Elin stod midt i folkemengden.
En: Sindre and Elin stood in the middle of the crowd.

En: Sindre held the camera carefully in his hands, searching for the perfect spot to take a picture.

No: "Mye folk her i dag," sa Elin og kikket seg rundt.
En: "A lot of people here today," said Elin, glancing around.

En: Her eyes sparkled with anticipation, but there was also a slight hint of concern.

No: Hun ville ikke miste Sindre i mylderet.
En: She didn't want to lose Sindre in the throng.

En: "We'll find a good spot," replied Sindre, determined to take a picture that would live up to the memory from last year.

No: De begynte å bevege seg gjennom menneskemengden.
En: They began to move through the crowd.

No: Lukten av nygrillede pølser og vafler hang i luften.
En: The smell of freshly grilled sausages and waffles hung in the air.

En: Sindre kept stopping to snap pictures, but nothing was quite what he wanted.

En: "Maybe we should head towards the water?" he suggested.

En: Elin nodded, though she continuously kept an eye on him.

En: "Just don't climb up on anything to make it happen," she said with a glint in her eye, but the sound of drums and music from the parade band drowned out her voice.

No: De nærmet seg havnen.
En: They approached the harbor.

En: There, among the many benches, Sindre saw an opportunity.

En: If only he could get up, he would have a fantastic view.

En: "I'll climb up there," he said, pointing at an empty bench.

No: Elin så tvilende ut.

En: "Be careful then," she said, but he was already on his way.

No: Fra benken hadde Sindre perfekt utsikt over paraden.
En: From the bench, Sindre had a perfect view of the parade.

En: He raised the camera, ready to capture the Norwegian splendor when it dawned on him.

No: Han hadde mistet Elin i mengden.
En: He had lost Elin in the crowd.
