Description
Welcome to Elected Women Across America, a podcast featuring elected women with common goals to exchange legislative ideas and reach across the aisle. Hosted by the National Foundation for Women Legislators, this podcast provides a direct line to the leaders that the organization empowers.
It’s a question we often ask of our elected women: why did you run for office? Hear from Delegate April Miller of the Maryland General Assembly, an optometrist whose children’s education woes inspired her to advocate for more change in education policy, and Councilmember Lydia Assefa-Dawson of Federal Way Washington, who received a call from a state representative encouraging her to run when a vacancy opened in her district–10 years ago.
We'll bring you new stories in the new year from elected women each episode with host Brenna Kehew Sculley. Are you interested in sharing your story with us here at NFWL? Sign up today to record your podcast, share your passion and get engaged in 2024 at podcast@womenlegislators.org
