Today, I am joined by Dr. Ashley Detwiler, DVM, Diplomate ACVD to discuss ectoparasite control, specifically for flea allergic pets. Dr. Detwiler currently practices with Pittsburgh Veterinary Dermatology but has lived in many different areas of the country from Florida to Michigan. So, she has dealt with a lot of different environments and fleas. We discuss how to convince pet owners to use flea prevention, what flea allergies look like in cats and dogs, and the evolution of flea preventatives.
