Last month of vacation in Mexico, my very old iPhone died. I was suddenly, quite literally, cut off from the outside world and forced to use my brain and eyes in a new way. I had six big takeaways from the experience, some of which won't surprise you, some of which will. One thing I can tell you for sure, I will not be giving my kids smartphones until I absolutely have to - in many MANY years.
