Established in 1867, Fort Concho was built along the banks of the Concho River in San Angelo, Texas to protect frontier settlements, patrol and map the vast landscapes of West Texas, and to quell local threats. Hundreds of soldiers lived here, they would have comradery here, a second family, but they also experienced extreme trauma, battles, violence, bloodshed. And it seems some of the residents of Fort Concho never left. As you continue to venture through San Angelo you will also find many other haunted hot spots, from haunted hotels to a haunted university. So let’s get into it. This is the story of Fort Concho and some other haunted hot spots in San Angelo, Texas.
