Next, bans or severely restrictive legislation went into effect in 11 states immediate after the ruling, while several lawmakers in congress were calling for a federal bill allowing the right to abortion, but it is unlikely to hold up with this Supreme Court. Finally, Attorney General Merrick Garland also announced on Friday that the justice department would combat any efforts to restrict access to abortion pills.
