He may face charges of obstruction and/or sedition. Despite this, he remains a top contender for a presidential nomination. In a separate case, a pre-trial hearing for the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case happened recently, but the trial's start date remains uncertain due to complexities with the evidence. Michigan's Attorney General filed felony charges against 16 Republicans for falsely claiming to be electors for Trump during the 2020 election. In Iowa, a new fetal heartbeat abortion ban was temporarily blocked by a district judge, allowing abortions up to 20 weeks. Lastly, a US soldier crossed into North Korea and is now held in the Panmunjom village, raising concerns about human rights violations.
