Description

Today’s Headlines: Trump is still pushing for a rare minerals deal with Ukraine but won’t restart military aid unless Zelensky makes political concessions—including giving up land to Russia. Meanwhile, Russian attacks on Ukraine are escalating, and Trump is considering ending protections for over 280,000 Ukrainian refugees in the U.S. In Syria, the new Islamist-led government launched deadly revenge attacks on Assad loyalists, while Russia claims it’s working on de-escalation. In other news, China slapped Canada with major tariffs in a growing trade war, the U.S. jobs report showed weaker-than-expected growth, and the DOJ is investigating egg price gouging. Elon Musk is pushing for federal job cuts, SpaceX’s rocket explosion disrupted flights, and Trump pulled $400M in grants from Columbia over antisemitism concerns. Meanwhile, most of the 80,000 employees at Health and Human Services were offered buyouts as part of government downsizing. And finally, with no budget deal in sight, a government shutdown could be days away.
