Just before 4am on May 9th, 2017, law enforcement in Leon County, Florida, received a panicked call from 31-year-old Peter Tournay to report a murder, kidnapping, and, less-pressing: a car theft.
Earlier that night, Peter, who was struggling with drug addiction, had gone with his childhood friend, Hoyt Birge, to sell a close friend of his painkillers. That friend, Paige Vowell, lived at the home of her boyfriend, Page Briggs.
When Hoyt and Peter arrived to sell the drugs as planned, things went horribly, horribly wrong. As soon as they entered the home, following Paige Vowell inside, they were brutally ambushed by a group of four men.
