IN POLITICAL NEWS

1) President Trump announced the first of numerous big tariff deals with Mediocre Britain, and that the 10% tariff would remain. The world better get used to this. A 10% tariff is the baseline, the vig, for doing business with the U.S. It will soon be our income once the income tax is replaced. As Jeff Childers points out in his "Coffee and Covid," the unscrupulous Wall Street Journal may be starting a pivot on the tariff. Meanwhile this has allowed Trump to cut all non-defense spending in his new budget: "a step forward" says former conservative congressman Thaddeus McCotter.

2) Senator John Fetterman apparently cut loose on a rant---"Why does everybody hate me? What did I ever do?"---in a meeting with the teacher's union. Fetterman Massacre, listen to me bro. You ARE NOT WELCOME in the DemoKKKrat Party if you have ANY of these positions: You support Israel, you support human life, and you actually like America. He has gotten bad polling news in his attempt to hold his seat. We'll see. I think he's ok.

3) Two big announcements from Pam Bondi on Wednesday afternoon. First, the FBI has arrested 200 child predators., which, it is clear, is just the start. Second, she laid to rest notions advanced by Congressman James Comer that the Epstein evidence was destroyed. Quite the contrary she said, they have so much of it it's taking an enormous amount of time to go through. As I suspected and have argued, the FBI has "tens of thousands of videos" in which they need to scour to remove and redact any images of kids or minors. Jeff Childers notes that if foreign pols are on the tapes, revealing their names now in the midst of tariff negotiations would result in a wave of demands for immunity tied to the economic plan. Or, as he calls it, a "hopelessly complicated plate of competing incentive spaghetti." Meanwhile the Trump administration released 60,000 pages of Robert F. Kennedy documents. And DOGE has deactivated over 500,000 gubment credit cards.
