The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Houston Astros 13-9 on Saturday night in an explosive offensive performance. The Reds jumped out to a commanding lead with a 10-run first inning, highlighted by a three-run homer from Elly De La Cruz. Matt McLain added to the barrage with a two-run shot in the third inning. Though the Astros mounted a comeback to close the gap to 12-8, the Reds' bullpen held strong to preserve the win. Connor Joe made a solid debut for Cincinnati, going 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a run scored, and a walk.
