Israel warns its punishing air strikes on Gaza are just the beginning of its response to the unprecedented surprise attack by Hamas which left over 900 people in Israel dead. The death toll on both sides is climbing as more than 680 Palestinians have been killed according to Gaza’s health ministry. President Biden says some US citizens are likely being held hostage as Hamas is now threatening to execute civilians it captures.
