Alcatraz could soon be reopened as a prison. The facility on a small island in San Francisco was closed as a prison in 1963 and has since been turned into a tourist destination.
But President Donald Trump says he wants the facility reopened to house the most dangerous criminals. And while some have suggested the prison is not feasible because of its limited space and high maintenance costs, Trump says it will act as a symbol of law and order.
