The time is now 12:00 PM in New York, I'm Noa Levi and this is the latest Israel Today: Ongoing War Report.

At noon, and amid ongoing security developments across Israel and the surrounding region, the situation remains tense and complex. Israeli military and security forces continue their extensive operations in the north of the West Bank, particularly in the area of the ongoing "Iron Wall" operation in northern Samaria. Since the start of this campaign over 100 days ago, Israeli forces have succeeded in eliminating more than 700 terrorists, including 36 senior figures in various terrorist organizations. Over 100 terrorists have been killed, around 320 suspects have been arrested, and hundreds of weapons and explosive devices have been seized. The operation has involved targeted strikes, dismantling of terror infrastructure, and efforts to prevent the re-establishment of militant networks in the region. The Israeli Defense Forces have announced plans to demolish a number of homes associated with terror activity, aiming to disrupt terrorist logistics while minimizing civilian impact.

In the broader Middle East, discussions are underway regarding potential future governance in Gaza. Reports suggest that the United States and Israel are exploring the possibility of establishing a US-led provisional authority in Gaza, staffed by Palestinian technocrats, but excluding Hamas and the Palestinian Authority. This initiative aims to stabilize the region while avoiding direct control or occupation, although it remains preliminary and fraught with regional sensitivities. Palestinian officials and Hamas strongly oppose foreign-led governance, emphasizing their desire for self-determination. Meanwhile, Israel continues to prepare for a wide-scale military operation named "Gideon’s Chariots," aimed at dismantling Hamas' capabilities and infrastructure in Gaza, with the objective of degrading the organization's military strength and ensuring long-term security.

In the West Bank, recent attacks have resulted in the injury of three civilians. Two individuals were wounded in a shooting near Jenin, which targeted a civilian vehicle, and a separate car ramming in the Hebron Hills resulted in the death of the attacker and injuries to another civilian. These incidents are part of a pattern of increased violence, with terrorists targeting Israeli civilians in multiple locations. The Israeli military is conducting investigations and increased operational activity in these areas to counter ongoing threats.

In Eilat, a tragic maritime accident occurred when two boats collided off the coast near Netivot Beach. The incident resulted in one death and eleven injuries, including children, with some victims suffering moderate to light injuries. Emergency services responded quickly, providing medical care and evacuating the injured. Authorities are examining the cause of the collision and whether it was accidental or related to other factors.

In other security incidents, a suspected shooting attack at the Reihan crossing resulted in injuries, and reports indicate ongoing exchanges of fire and attempted vehicle rammings in various parts of the West Bank. Israeli security forces remain on high alert, responding swiftly to threats and attacks, while the public is advised to stay vigilant.

On the diplomatic front, discussions continue about the future of Gaza, with some proposals involving international oversight and the potential involvement of regional allies. The goal remains to prevent the resurgence of terrorist activity while addressing humanitarian needs and regional stability. The families of Israeli hostages held in Gaza continue to call for transparency and swift action to secure their loved ones'
