The Cincinnati Reds fell to the Washington Nationals 4-1 on Sunday afternoon, struggling mightily at the plate. The Reds went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base, missing several key opportunities to score. Despite a strong outing from Nick Martinez, who allowed just one run over six innings, the offense failed to back him up. Cincinnati struck out 13 times as a team, sealing a frustrating end to the series.
