The D.O P. (protected denominacion de origin) Cariñena was the second wine region in Spain to gain D.O. status in 1932. Located in the region of Aragon west of the historic city of Zaragoza, Cariñena is known for its 100-year-old vines and distinctive Garnacha and Cariñena varietals. Vintner Pedro Garcia of Bodegas San Valero discusses Cariñena's terroir and production. Sommelier Martin Beally of Seattle's Wild Ginger restaurant discusses wine & food pairings.
