Recently, to pay our respects to the great Daniel Ellsberg, we put up a speech he gave in Houston in February 2003 in which he spoke about many things, but in particular warned of the coming war against Iraq in prescient ways, which is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vD2PcWHj4Wk Now we're going to stay on that theme and present to you a speech that took place in Houston a few months before that. In October 2002, as the Bush administration was ramping up to invade Iraq, I was honored to organize and introduce Noam Chomsky to an overflow crowd at the University of Houston. Like Ellsberg, Chomsky offered a succinct and historically-driven argument against intervention in the Middle East and discussed the deceitful government and media narratives driving what would become a bloody and consequential war.
