Description
What the Bible š says about your tear, A Barren, Great, Generous Ā and Content Woman 2 ā¼ļø
GREATNESS AND WEALTH DOES NOT SAVE OUR RELATIVES FROM DEATH. THE SON OF A GREAT AND PROSPEROUS WOMAN FELL ILL AND DIED.
Psalm 49:6-10
They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;Ā 7None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:Ā 8(For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)Ā 9That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.Ā 10For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
2 KingsĀ 4:18-20
And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.Ā 19And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.Ā 20And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her kneesĀ till noon, and then died.Ā 21And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.
WHEN SHE COMES TO THE MAN OF GOD SHE ARGUES THAT SHE WAS CONTENT WITHOUT A CHILD. SHE HAD ACCEPTED GODāS WILL TO LIVE WITHOUT A CHILDĀ
2 Kings 4:25-28
So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:Ā 26Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well.Ā 27And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.Ā 28Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?Ā
ELISHA PRAYED TO THE LIFE GIVER AND THE CHILD WAS RESURRECTED.
2 Kings 4:32-33
And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.Ā 33He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the LORD.
John 11:23-27
Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.Ā 24Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.Ā 25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:Ā 26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?Ā 27She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.Ā
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.Ā
2 Kings 4:36-37
And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.Ā 37Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.Ā
So was the faith of this woman rewarded. Christ, the great Life-giver, restored her son to her. In like manner will His faithful ones be rewarded, when, at His coming, death loses its sting and the grave is robbed of the victory it has claimed. Then will He restore to His servants the children that have been taken from them by death. ā {Prophets and Kings p. 239.3}
Isaiah 26:19
Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
1 Corinthians 15:51-55
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We s
