Sl: Mateja je sedela na klopci ob Blejskem jezeru.
En: Mateja was sitting on a bench by Bled Lake.
Sl: Spomladanski zrak je bil poln življenja, ptiči so prepevali, cvetlice so cvetele.
En: The spring air was full of life; birds were singing, flowers were blooming.
Sl: Sprehod ob jezeru ji je pomagal razmisliti.
En: A walk by the lake helped her think.
Sl: Po letih življenja v tujini, se je končno vrnila domov.
En: After years of living abroad, she had finally returned home.
Sl: Potrebovala je mir, da je zbrala pogum za srečanje z bratom Goranom.
En: She needed peace to muster the courage to meet her brother Goran.
Sl: Goran je prišel točno ob dogovorjeni uri.
En: Goran arrived exactly at the agreed-upon time.

Sl: "Kako si?" jo je vprašal Goran.
En: "How are you?" Goran asked her.
Sl: "Pogrešali smo te."
En: "We've missed you."
Sl: "Vem," je odgovorila Mateja, "in oprosti..."
En: "I know," Mateja answered, "and sorry..."
Sl: Njene misli so se vrtele okoli občutkov krivde.
En: Her thoughts swirled around feelings of guilt.
Sl: "Vzelo mi je preveč časa, da sem tu."
En: "It took me too long to be here."
Sl: Goran je bil dolgo časa tiho.
En: Goran was silent for a long time.
Sl: Njegova ljubezen do družine je bila močna.
En: His love for family was strong.
Sl: Sestre je pogrešal vsak dan, vendar je vedno verjel v njeno odločnost in strast do umetnosti.
En: He missed his sister every day but always believed in her determination and passion for art.
Sl: "Razumem, zakaj si šla," je končno rekel.
En: "I understand why you left," he finally said.
Sl: "Ampak zdi se mi čudno, da smo si tako oddaljeni."
En: "But it seems strange that we have been so distant."
Sl: Lahka sapica je premikala veje dreves.
En: A gentle breeze moved the tree branches.

En: Mateja took a deep breath, bravely turning the thoughts through her mind.
Sl: "Želim se povezati s teboj," je rekla.
En: "I want to connect with you," she said.
