90. Natural Phrases To Talk About Tasks and Workload

Published 5 years, 3 months ago
Description

THIS IS AN ANNA WITH 2Ns EPISODE BEFORE I REBRANDED TO CONFIDENT BUSINESS ENGLISH. I RECOMMEND STARTING WITH THE MOST RECENT CONFIDENT BUSINESS ENGLISH EPISODES.

Bored of saying "I'm busy" when someone asks you how work is going? This episode is for you.

I always warm up at the beginning of any sessions by asking the question "What have you got going on this week?" or "Tell me what your week is like."

I like to do this because immediately it's get the person focused on telling me about a very common thing we talk about at work which is our schedule and workload.

The majority of them will answer something like "really busy", "very busy", or "busy as usual" and it got me thinking, why not different options to spice it up a bit? To spice something up is to make it a bit more interesting.

In this episode I tell you about some natural responses and answers to having:

  • A lot of work
  • Not a lot of work
  • An easy task
  • A difficult task

Enjoy! Anna
